HOPE (Towards safer bicycling through optimization of bicycle helmets and usage) was a FP7-funded COST Action of which we were a partner. This COST Action aimed at bringing together the main scientific fields related to cycling traffic safety with special focus on helmets. These fields include: (i) accident and behaviour statistics, (ii) traffic psychology, (iii) impact engineering, and (iv) ergonomics of thermal issues. FAME Lab participated in the latter group with the aim of improving the thermal design of bicycle helmets. The programme ran from 17/05/2011 to 16/5/2015
