ICARUS (International Cooperation for the Advancement of Research on the Underlying System of Human Thermoregulation) was an FP7-funded project of which FAME Lab was a partner. The aim of this project was to investigate factors such as heat stroke, fatigue development, fluid balance, and ageing in individuals exercising or working under hot conditions. The other partners in this network were:

– Hein Daanen, Department of Human Performance, TNO Research (The Netherlands)
– Tim Noakes, Research Unit for Exercise Science and Sports Medicine, University of Cape Town (South Africa).
